For more than 40 years, citizens have gathered together to celebrate Earth Day, and the Green Tie Affair will be a great occasion to do that in 2014.  In 1970, Earth Day capitalized on the emerging environmental consciousness, channeling that energy and putting environmental concerns front and center

The Alabama Environmental Council continues that advocacy today by educating citizens, corporations, and elected officials toward sustainable living and stewardship of the environment. The Green Tie Affair is the Council's annual fundraiser with proceeds going to benefit our statewide work.

The public is invited to attend the 18th Annual Green Tie Affair Auction and Party on Tuesday, April 22, 2014 from 6:00 to 9:30 p.m. at the Birmingham Botanical Gardens.

More than 300 guests are anticipated to attend. A limited number of tickets will be available for $50 until April 14 and will then cost $60. Tickets can be purchased online or by calling (205) 322-3126 and will be mailed if purchased before April 14th. Tickets purchased after April 14th will be placed on the will call list.

The Green Tie Affair will feature live music, alcoholic & non-alcoholic beverages, heavy hors d’oeuvres provided by local restaurants, and a silent and live auction offering items such as vacation packages, artwork from local artists, and gift certificates. Dress for the evening is creative casual.
