Originally from Louisiana, I am a graduate of Rhodes College with a BS in Biology, and ASU with a MA in Elementary Education. I have been teaching for the past 16 years at Creative Montessori School in Homewood. I co-founded the ELP (Environmental Literacy Program) at CMS in 1999. The program has grown to include an organic garden, recycling program, Jr. Master Gardener program, NWEI Discussion courses, and a certified box turtle rescue habitat. I have volunteered and served on several local non-profit boards that include the Birmingham Children's Choir, and GRCA (Green Resource Center). I was awarded the William R. Ireland Sr. Make a Difference award in 2010 for my contributions in environmental education in the Birmingham area. I have been married for 25 years to Patrick, and am the mother to two daughters Devyn 16 and Blythe 11.
